Wings Like a Dove

Inspired by a Psalm 55:6 Scripture Quote on her Memorial Card, I wrote Wings Like a Dove for my recently reposed goddaughter, Xenia. God-Willing, I’ll finish putting this to music someday. Asking your prayers for Xenia and her family. Thank you. With love in Christ.

Who will give me
wings like a dove?
I’ll fly away
through night’s starry blue veil above,
with soft downy feathers of Love.

Beyond the sun,
shines Gladsome Light
in Paradise,
fragrant gardens blossom so bright,
and stainless souls dream in delight.

Now I lay me down to rest,
no sighs, no more sorrows,
God knows best!

Last Trumpet calls,
dark shadows flee!
Blink of an eye,
everything changes, we shall see
the Abodes of Eternity.

Who will
give me
wings like
a dove?

Memory Eternal, Xenia!

Death does not exist. It will be like closing one door and opening another! I remember a fine painting showing two rose gardens separated by a wall. A twig, from one of the rose bushes, had worked its way through a crack in a wall and a beautiful rose had bloomed on the other side. That’s how it is with our life. We leave this world and go to blossom in the Next. ~ St. Gavrilia (The Ascetic of Love)
