A wat’ry ribbon wove its path
around the forest glade
and swirled past secret valleys,
through glens of em’rald jade.
Cascading into lonely pools
it sighed and streamed along
towards the dusky twilight,
and heaven’s starry song.
It whispered to the stars and moon;
“Please and come play tonight!”
Upon the rippling eddies,
danced silver moonbeams bright.
A murmur, crystalline and pure
infused the woodland nigh…
Sung was the sweetest solo;
“Lo! I have touched the sky!”
