I wrote this “anytime song” of joy and prayer upon the completion of our parish church dome mosaics; a 7 year project by parishioners. *Inspired* by the dome’s English, Ancient Greek and Church Slavonic Scriptural text from Isaiah 25:9; I also included a verse from Psalm 51 KJV (Psalm 50 Septuagint), and the ancient Jesus Prayer… this was set to the ethereal tune of “Din Cer Senin” a traditional Romanian Christmas Carol, a melody (in my opinion), too beautiful to be sung only at Christmas. -Photo from our parish mosaic booklet
Behold our God in Whom we hope
And rejoice in our salvation,
That He may grant rest unto this House,
We rejoice in our salvation.
Gospodi pomilui, Kyrie eleison, Lord have mercy!
Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy,
Glory to Thee, O God!
Create in me a clean heart, O Lord
And renew a right Spirit in me.
Cast me not away from Thy Presence,
Take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Gospodi pomilui, Kyrie eleison, Lord have mercy!
Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy,
Glory to Thee, O God!
O Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of God,
Have mercy on me a sinner.
O Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of God,
Have mercy on me a sinner.
Gospodi pomilui, Kyrie eleison, Lord have mercy!
Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy,
Glory to God for all things!
